Tri-1st Coaching

Regardless of the distance you want to race, regardless of your ability and no matter how much time you have, the coaches at Tri-1st can help you achieve your goals. Our coaches are athletes that want to help other athletes, when you are coached by Tri-1st you get the benefit of over 30 years of racing and training experience. The benefits of being coached by Tri-1st are:


Standard Coaching Package:

  • One to one coaching — we'll work with you on an individual basis to help you achieve your goals and not someone else's
  • Training programmes personalised for you and organised around your life — our coaches appreciate that athletes have to train around working and family life. Training programmes are delivered in monthly or fortnightly training blocks. Each block will have a specific purpose and training characteristics which will vary each week.
  • Experience — Tri-1st coaches have made the mistakes and learnt from them, so that you don't have to
  • High levels of feedback and communication — coaching is about commitment to the athlete and at Tri-1st our coaches will do their best to answer all of your questions as and when you have them. Once you sign up with Tri-1st as a coached athlete our coaches will communicate with you by unlimited email contact and one weekly phone call.
  • Training Peaks - our coaches use an online training diary system called Training Peaks to deliver your training plans. You will receive a free Training Peaks athlete account which then allows you to send feedback and your training data to the coaches for instant analysis.
  • Equipment advice - our coaches have unparalleled knowledge of triathlon equipment, from time trial frames and fitting to realistic views on the right equipment for you, your goals and your ability
  • Performance testing - Tri-1st can arrange VO2 Max testing for athletes as well as cycling power and pedalling efficiency testing
  • 10% discount on any equipment, nutrition or clothing purchased from Tri-1st

The cost is £80 per month (subject to a 6 month commitment)

Payment - monthly by bank transfer or if you commit to 12 months and pay the full annual price of your plan in advance, you will qualify for a 10% discount

  • Unlimited contact with your coach, by phone or email
  • One 1- 1 session per month of your choice
  • One swim analysis per season
  • A personalised strength and conditioning program to address any weaknesses
  • Two bike fits per season (road bike and TT bike)
  • Quarterly fitness testing to make sure you are progressing in the right direction
  • Unlimited pre-race bike checks
  • One Ironman bike service per season (full strip down and rebuild)
  • 15% discount on any equipment, nutrition or clothing purchased from Tri-1st
  • Tri-1st cycling shorts and top

The cost is £200 per month (subject to a 12 month commitment)

1-1 Swim Coaching or Cycling Sessions - £30 per hour

Highly recommended especially if you are just starting out swimming or cycling as you don't want to enforce any bad habits from the get go. You will be able to concentrate on an area of your choice and get invaluable feedback and tips on technique from our experienced coaches.

Once you have decided on what coaching package you would like, contact us and we will arrange a FREE consultation at our Birmingham based shop (Tri 1st) or by phone/Skype to discuss your goals, sporting background, injury history and lifestyle. This will enable your coach to build a training plan that will suit your current lifestyle and fitness.
